چکیده
Abstract Background Pulmonary hypertension (PH) is an established prognosticator in patients with mitral regurgitation (MR). However, a substantial proportion of MR presents without PH at rest but may develop during exercise. Previous studies already demonstrated the prevalence and prognostic impact bicycle Until now, there are no data on exercise assessed by handgrip Purpose To assess predictors exercise-induced MR. Methods We prospectively included least mild severity that underwent echocardiography three minutes according to standardized protocol. was defined systolic pulmonary artery pressure (SPAP) >50 mmHg. Results The final patient cohort 371 primary secondary Mean age 74±11 years, 48% were female 59% had atrial fibrillation. Median NT-proBNP 2017 (845–4976) ng/l. Prediction of exercise pulmonary hypertension in asymptomatic degenerative mitral regurgitation.
OBJECTIVE Exercise systolic pulmonary arterial pressure (SPAP) predicts the occurrence of symptoms in patients with degenerative mitral regurgitation (MR). However, this measurement is not always available. The purpose of this study was to identify resting echocardiographic predictors of exercise SPAP and whether predicted exercise SPAP may predict symptom-free survival. METHODS We prospectiv...
متن کاملClinical significance of exercise pulmonary hypertension in secondary mitral regurgitation.
In patients with heart failure, exercise echocardiography can help in risk stratification and decision making. The prognostic significance of exercise pulmonary hypertension (PH) in patients with secondary mitral regurgitation (MR) remains unknown. The aim of the present study was to assess the prognostic value of exercise PH in patients with secondary MR and narrow QRS intervals. From 2005 to ...
متن کاملPulmonary Hypertension in Mitral Regurgitation
M itral regurgitation (MR) is the most common valvular lesion in the United States and the second-most common valvular lesion requiring surgery in Europe. In the United States, over 2.5 million people are estimated to have moderate-to-severe MR, and this number is expected to double by 2030. Over the past several decades, improvements in our ability to diagnose and quantify MR, coupled with a b...
